I returned to the international firm (Benoy) to undertake a three months internship. This time around, instead of asking me to design a house, I was asked to help an ongoing project in Yang Zhou China. This is a tower design that is significant due to its ellipse form, which makes it a design challenge in arranging the seating and formation of each floor plan. The client requires single and multi tenant usage on different floors. Therefore here are some studies as to how different tenant could utilise a single space and yet be a comfortable fit. In the process I was exposed to many discussions, meetings, and event presentations to clients. When sitting in these meetings I have realised and learnt that proposing a building is not only pointing out its aesthetics and ticking the requirements of the clients. Pitching an idea is telling a story, a narrative that allows clients to clearly understand an abstract form, such as a building.
The following CAD files and sketch-up images are finished pieces from me that I presented to my supervisor.
